Impossible

Came across that photo today
The one you told me to live my life by
The brightest eyes reaching out to skies
That told us nothing was impossible

You put the world on notice
I took the light in your eyes as gospel
Made our escape on the perfect day
To feel like nothing was impossible

And if my bucket full of lists
And broken pinky promises
Spell out eventual remiss
Oh, then all I would be
Is just a shadow, a shadow of me

I called the number on the back of the postcard
Twenty years disappeared at hello
And I know what I knew
'Cause it still rings true
You introduce me to the possible
I hear your words at every obstacle
You told me nothing is impossible
